What are the Martin Avenue Apartments?
The Martin Avenue Apartments are apartments for people age 62 or older living with a limited income or people with disabilities. A government-subsidized, nonprofit housing center, Martin Avenue offers 190 apartments: 81 studios, 107 one bedroom apartments and 2 two bedrooms.

Where does funding for the Martin Avenue Apartments come from?
Funding for our program comes from two sources: rent paid by our residents and grants from government entities including the City of Naperville.
What are the eligibility requirements to become a resident?
Martin Avenue Apartments conforms to federal requirements by requesting residents meet a maximum annual income limit. Residents are also required to be 62 years old or older or be a person with disabilities. Residents must pay one month’s rent for security deposit. Leases are for one year. What is the apartment availability?
There are currently waiting lists for both types of apartments. Eligible applicants will be considered on a first-come basis and will be interviewed before final acceptance for tenancy.
Are there social activities offered at Martin Avenue Apartments?
Yes, to enrich the lives of Martin Avenue residents, we provide the following social activities: a holiday party, luncheons, sing-a-longs, bingo, and other community-related activities. See our calendar.
Is there a bus service available?
Yes. We have our own handicap-accessible bus that takes residents to grocery stores twice a week for no charge. Additionally, the bus takes residents to shows, plays or restaurants, all are churches and to the local mall a couple of times per year for no charge.
Does Martin Avenue Apartments offer care for residents?
No. We do not offer full or partial care facilities for residents.
Is there food service available?
Each apartment is provided with a freestanding refrigerator and electric range and a regular kitchen complex so residents can prepare their own food. Our bus takes residents to grocery stores twice a week for no charge.
Is there a charge for utilities?
Because Martin Avenue Apartments is operated by a not-for-profit organization rental costs are at a minimum. Heat, water, and utilities are included in your rent. Telephone and cable service are the resident’s responsibility.
Are there banking services available?
For the convenience of our residents, Naperville Bank and Trust visit twice a month to assist with banking needs.
Do the Martin Avenue Apartments offer any other amenities?
Yes! There is a beauty salon, laundry facilities on every floor, exercise room, community room, lounge area, second-floor balcony and a patio for our residents to enjoy.
